CRAP(s)!!
Last night, we got together again with James and headed over to the casino. We had heard that James was quite the craps player so we thought that this would be a good time to learn. Rach's mom came with so there were the four of us for a night on the town.
Now, craps is one of the more confusing games in the place. For those of you unfamiliar with craps, it's the very stereo-typical 'Vegas' type game where you throw the die down the table after you've had a complete stranger blow on them while a waitress serves you your martini. Well, I wasn't drinking martinis and I won't tell you what the guy said to me after I asked him to blow into my hand...
As James stood there in front of the table, he did his very best to explain the game. And I nodded. "Do you understand?" he would ask. "Not a word" I would tell him. So he dumbed it down a bit and explained how throwing the die sets the point. I nodded. "So you understand how to set the point?" he would ask. "No idea" I would reply.
So we were ready.
We saddled up to the table, we're encouraged to yell and scream and high five (the only table on the casino floor allowed to do so) and after watching for about 10 minutes, I was starting to get a clue. So I through in my chips and let hell fall where it may. I basically just did what James told me to do. I won some. I lost some. But hey, I was winning more than I was loosing.
As people took their turns throwing the die around the table, James' turn came up. He must have been doing really well because I was winning. I pretty much tripled my initial $50 investment. Everyone was hooping and hollering. "Come on EIGHTS!" we would yell. Ok, I didn't yell. But I watched everyone else yell and smiled. But once he through craps, he handed the die over to Rach's mom. She too had never played before but was enjoying the excitement. Throwing the die can be a tricky thing. The table is quite long so you don't really know how hard to throw them. Seasoned players an throw them way up in the air and have them float down on the far side gently bouncing against the green back padded panel. Rach's mom shook the die, gave a caressive fling of the wrist, had one dice jump nicely down the table while the other ricocheted of the forehead of an asian lady at the far end. oops. Fortunately, they let you role again.
She was lucky for me as well as I won some more! Rachel rolled. I lost a bit. A couple of other people rolled, I lost even more. But then it was my time to roll! "COME ON BABY!" And let me tell you, I know how to roll. James Bond himself would have been proud. People were winning money as they clapped and cheered. For a few moments you are rolling, you're like a celebrity. Everyone is looking at you. Women want to be with you and men want to be like you. You are the maker of their fortune and you are loved. You are the KING.
Then you throw craps. And you are pond scum.
But it was fun! I played for about 40 minutes and walked away with about $75. Of course I came in with $50 so I only made $25. At one time I was sitting on about $300. So we went over the the roulette table and I kicked ass. Well, I walked away with about $150.
So I'm thinking of taking up craps as a full time occupation. I really think I'm that good. I just need a few people give me a hand with finances to get things started but it is a guaranteed return on your investment. Please don't hesitate to email me if you would like to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Can I use PayPal to donate all my money or do you prefer cash because of some of the more intricate tax arrangements?

i never understood craps … well, not true, i never listened to the people trying to explain to me so i can relate.
it’s funny, as i was reading this i realized that i’ve had a bit of a gambling bug in me. i hadn’t stepped foot in a casino for probably 5 or more years, but since visiting vegas i’ve gone here twice in the last month and had lots of fun .
glad to hear james is doing well. i’ve had him on my messenger buddy list, but haven’t seen him sign-on in ages (he’s probably blocking me wondering who the heck i am
). james, if you read this, i sent you an invitation to ‘linked in’. also, please comment with the name of that awesome burger joint you took jasper and me to in seattle. i was down there last month and for some reason i was really craving one. paul/rach, do you have an updated email addy for him you can send me?
paul, craps is by far the ‘funnest’ game based on how much people hoot and holler – this time ‘fun’ doesn’t necesarily equate winning
. i don’t see a paypal donation link anywhere?!
