Before I carry on with life…
I need to send out HUGE props to two of the most beautiful people on the planet who just brought in a third. To Mohamed and Dalia, congratulations on bringing us Nadeem. We look forward to many visits and maybe the odd babysitting opportunity. I'm also looking forward to teaching him about drinking, and smoking and swearing. Not to mention, my vast knowledge of the opposite sex.
Ya, he's not going be messed up...
We spent the weekend in Whistler. Man I love going there. Its only a couple of hours away (and the new highway upgrades are fantastic) but you feel like you've gone to another world. It really is a world class destination. I only wish we could afford to be up there more often. It helps of course that we get to go with our friend Nicol who gets us cheap rates at the Chateau Whistler. Why oh why Lord do you not just allow me to win that lottery I so muchly deserve?
Well the conditions were fantastic. Zero at the base. About -5 up top. Not a lot of fresh snow but they've had so much this year that there was plenty. The sky was blue. The view, amazing. I didn't break any limbs so that's always a plus. We started early but left the hill around 2. Drank at the pub at the base. Walked around town. Gorged ourselves at the Keg for dinner. I can still taste prime rib... Drank expensive wine... Watched the Canucks beat Chicago 5 to 1. Ah... Life just does not get much better.
We thought there would be more 'Olympic type stuff' up and around but there isn't really. All the trees were lit up but I think they are most of the year anyway. Even late at night they were still doing construction on a stage area that looks like it will be somewhat impressive when completed. And there weren't that many people there. The hill was dead for most of the day. I think Solar Coaster had a 5 minute wait but that's pretty darn good.
And now we're home. The few pictures I took are up on flickr. And now we have the rest of the evening to relax before heading into work tomorrow.
I think I'll run down the road and pick up a couple of lottery tickets. Sigh.

Thanks Paul for the warm wishes. You have my permissions in teaching him all of that. Not excessive drinking though, I would start with wine please since mummy and daddy are horrible in picking good wine and they definitely need some help
