Launch Day Eve
Rachel surprised me with a weekend away. I knew it was coming but I had no idea where. All I knew was that it was going to be a couple nights about a 3 hour drive away. I guessed Seattle but she said that we would not be going over the border.
So I assumed it was going to be Nanaimo where my friend Jason lives. But she said that we weren't going on a boat. I asked her if we were going to be around people we knew and she pleaded the fifth.
So I figured she was lying about the boat and we were still going to Nanaimo. I emailed my friend Jason and asked if he was excited about the weekend. He responded "sure... why?" I knew he was in on it.
So I emailed back... "Don't worry dude, cat's out of the bag".
He responded "I'm not sure I follow you".
I could see that his email secret keeping skills were quite good.
Friday night, about 6:30pm, we packed our bags and left south on highway 99... toward the ferry terminal. AH HA! Here we come Nanaimo.
Well, we came to the Tsawwassen turnoff and drove right past it. All the way to the border. TRICKED! She lied about the border. Told the truth about the boat and never committed to seeing friends. She's very sneaky. And I have a very confused friend in Nanaimo....
So I don't have time to continue this story. But we ended up going to Seattle to see the musical Wicked. I've read the book now seen the musical. And I want to write up my review. Just not now...
Oh, and our game hits the store shelves tomorrow. This franchise for our company has fallen on hard times where we've been literally kicked in the pants by our competition. But it's make or break time. Sh*t or get off the pot so to speak. And so far, the reviews have been good. Better than they have been in a very long time. Will this be the year we surpass our competition? Doubtful. But even coming up to them on par is a win for us. So we're pumped. But now it's 24/7 shifts to make sure the launch goes well.
Let the fun times begin.

Jason was so intrigued with your e-mail! We were trying to guess what it meant for a while…
You guys should come visit soon anyway!

Too funny. I probably should have called Saturday when I knew that we weren’t coming over. I’m surprised Jason didn’t prod a little more for information. But then again… I’m not that surprised.
