Polar Opposites

Ok, this will be really quick because I really do have a lot of work to do. So this won't be about video games or hard drive malfunctions.

Heroes and Lost. In their first season, they were both amazing. Actually, Heroes was produced because of the success of Lost. And that first Heroes season was exceptional.

Over the past 4 years or so, some seasons have been better than others. Lost had a shaky second season but regained it's footing somewhat in it's 3rd although that can be hotly debated.

Heroes, well... has just gotten plain bad. Bad bad bad. The show literally sucks right now. So much, that it shouldn't even be on television. They have been looping the exact same story line over the past 5 episodes and I am so sick of it.

Hey, lets catch the heroes and round them up under the umbrella of some sinister government organization! Got 'em! Hey, they escaped! Hey, lets catch the heroes and round them up under the umbrella of some sinister government organization! Got 'em! Hey, they escaped! Hey, lets catch the heroes and round them up under the umbrella of some sinister government organization! Got 'em! Hey, they escaped! Hey, lets catch the heroes and round them up under the umbrella of some sinister government organization! Got 'em! Hey, they escaped! And so it goes...

However, as much as Heroes suck, Lost is just getting more and more amazing. This season is unbelievable albeit a little confusing. The fact that they are juggling time travel with parallel stories (in different times no less) and not have the story come across as just a bunch of hogwash is phenomenal.

So in summary, Lost Yaa! Heroes Boo!

  1. yeah, agree. This season of Lost has been stupendous, loving every episode, and they just get more and more involved. TV guys know you can always kick it up a notch with time travel.

Speaking of time travel – have you watched Life On Mars at all? Heard it was good but missed the first few episodes and I can’t start midstream.

  2. Haven’t watched it. We watch too much as it is! But Heroes is about to be dropped. Like a really bad habit.

  3. Hasn’t Life on Mars just been axed as well?

  4. Lost is crazy. After last night’s episode, I’m wondering how they’ll tie the two ‘time periods’ together, etc, etc…

I’m surprised I even like it anymore given the ridiculous story lines and time travel and all that… but I’m loving it.

  5. I stopped watching Lost after last season. I became less and less interested in the characters to the point where I just don’t care. At all.

Heroes hasn’t been great, but I don’t think it’s as bad at recycling as Lost was the last few seasons.

BSG is still number one though.

  6. Grim, next to the first season, this current season of Lost is the next best. The story actually plays out like it has purpose now that they know how it’s going to end.

I think your hanging onto Heroes for sentimental reasons. We all just need to let… it… go.

Rog, fair enough… but it hasn’t disappointed yes this season! It’s good to see that Sawyer has re-gained some spine.

  7. can’t say I have watched either show

  8. BSG – only 4 episodes left or something like that? Yeah, its easily the best show on right now IMHO, better than Lost. Season 4 has been kickin!

I’m also interested in how they’re going to tie the past characters and current characters together in Lost. They’ve already dug themselves a hole with Richard Alpert – he’s now met characters in the 70′s, so he *should* know them when the plane crashes later…
